Creating A Favicon
Once, I attempted to create a favicon (the little graphic in the URL address box) for this Web site, but never did finish the work until now. I used a free program that allowed me to copy and paste an image to create an icon, but I believe it has spyware so I won't share its name. There are many icon creators out there. In Photoshop (or whatever drawing program you have), I created a 16x16 pixel workspace. Added what I wanted in the icon (never could come up with a logo for the site, so I stuck with the m), select all (CTRL+A), copy (CTRL+C), and pasted it into the suspicious program. There, I saved it as "favicon.ico" and uploaded the file to my server. It won't work yet. First, add a line to the of the index page. Here's the line to add using XHTML standard formatting (if you're using HTML, leave off the / at the end of the line):

Dont Make Your Website User-unfriendly! Web Design is a very subjective process. Your idea of what looks good may differ from the next person's. I did not use any store-bought programs whatsoever. (Actually, I did buy "Front Page." I never got around to figur... | |

| Why Not To Use Web Design Templates For Your Website In today's age of fast food and high-speed Internet, a business may be tempted to take the "more convenient" route in launching a website ? buying a template and customising it.Website design templates are like off-the-shelf websites and are targeted at people who believe that launching their own, unique and differentiated website is costly and time consuming, which need not be the case. But what happens when you buy a template, and when looking up your competition on the web, you find that they are using the same template as you! A good example of this happening is the highly competitive real estate business ? I have personally discovered 6 (six) South African real estate businesses using the same design template for... | |
